Suvendu Adhikari, BJP leader, announced that the Bhoomi Pujan for a Ram temple will take place on April 6 in Nandigram, West Bengal, covering an area of three and a half bighas. Adhikari stated that a Ram temple will also be constructed in his constituency of Sonchura by the end of 2025. This announcement follows a surge in religious and political discussions in the state. The ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and opposition Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M) have criticized Adhikari, accusing him of using religious politics to divide the people.
